On Sunday evening Carl and I took Baylee to the Circus. It has the first BIG circus that both Baylee and I had ever been too. I took her to the Shriner's Circus when she was 15 months old but it doesn't even compare to the Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus.

Baylee has never popped fire works...EVER! After the Randall Family Christmas we headed to a fireworks stand in Vidalia. PawPaw spent quite a chunk of change to literally watch it go up in flames. The girls had such a good time and well, I think he enjoyed it more than they did.

For the first time in eight years I made it to the Randall family Christmas. Carl and I made it to the first family Christmas after we were married but we haven't been to one since. Sad I know! Baylee went back to Louisiana with my parents after Christmas and I made the drive a few days later. There were a lot of people unable to be there, as is every year, but I am so glad that we went.

On the eve of Christmas.....

We spent Christmas in Tennessee this year. We try and alternate spending one Christmas at home in Tennessee and the following in Louisiana. I love going "home" and seeing extended family but it is not the same as going to bed on Christmas eve in your own bed. My parents and sister made the trip to Tennessee to spend Christmas with us. My brother had to work so he couldn't make it. They drove up on Dec. 23. Baylee was asleep for the night by the time they made it to the house. When she woke up on Christmas Eve they were here!

My Daddy, a lover of all things that deals with the outdoors, wanted to go to Bass Pro Shop. We headed out the door pretty early and did a little shopping. Afterwards we went to Opryland Hotel to see all the Christmas Decorations.

Twas the night before Christmas

On December 8 Baylee's school held their second annual Christmas program. Each class had been working on a song to perform during the program for months. The event took place at Bluegrass Country Club and it was PACKED! The children were asked to be brought in their pj's. Here are a few pictures before heading out the door.

She had me laughing for sure. The hip shaking and dancing was not something they rehearsed. A Dad of one of the kids in Baylee's class came up to Carl and I after it was over and said "Well, she sure isn't shy now is she?" Nope....not one bit! ;)

Friday night we put up and decorated our Christmas tree. I stole the idea for this post from this blog. :) Here are some of my favorite ornaments on our tree.

My friend Hannah bought this ornament for Carl and I last year. It's big, colorful and I love it!

I think this one came from my friend Holly one year. Everyone knows how crazy us Louisiana people are about our Tigers!

Penny, a sweet lady that Carl works with bought this from Gatlinburg before Baylee was born.

I picked this one up from Hallmark the same year Carl and I were married.

My Daddy bought this for us the same year we were married and had moved to Tennessee. I guess he didn't want us to forget our roots. :)

I have had this ornament since I was in 5th grade. My best friends grandmother bought this for me from a craft fair we went to in Natchez, MS and I have had it on my tree every year since then.

The next two were given to us from Carl's grandmother the year Baylee was born.

I just love how this one sparkles.

When we got out of bed this morning a little elf was in Baylee's stocking. She spotted him and gasped and said "Look Mom, a gift from Santa." Baylee named her elf Freddy. She thinks it is the coolest thing ever that she has her very own elf.

While we were in Louisiana for Thanksgiving we took advantage of the opportunity to have my sister take some pictures of our family for Christmas cards. On Friday morning we headed to Monmouth in Natchez, MS. We were in a bit of a time crunch because the LSU/Arkansas game was the same day. We were there for about 45 minutes and we were done! I'm not posting the ones that we chose for our Christmas card nor did I post them on Facebook.

My girl NEVER looks at the camera. It is easy to get her to smile but to look at the camera AND smile? Forget about it. It's like pulling teeth!

Kassi actually cropped Baylee out of this one. She was looking no where near the camera in this one.

Wednesday afternoon we made the drive to Louisiana to spend Thanksgiving weekend. We made it to my parents house around 11:30 p.m. On the morning of Thanksgiving Baylee asked PawPaw to make her a shark with the sidewalk chalk that we brought from home.

Our Thanksgiving was full of good food and lots of family. Carl's Mom was released from the hospital on Wednesday so we are extremely thankful we were able to spend time with her that morning. She hasn't seen Baylee since July. After our visit we headed to Carl's aunt and uncles house for lunch. There were people galore! Baylee had a blast with all of the other kids. Not long after we filled our bellies we headed back to my parents house. When we got back Kassi pulled out her MacBook and we started making silly pictures with photo booth. Baylee got the BIGGEST kick out of this. She thought it was hilarious!

After a trip to Walmart for a Christmas tree and lights it was time yet again for another Thanksgiving meal. My grandparents came over and for the second time of the day we stuffed our bellies with yummy food. We have so much to be thankful for. I am glad there is an entire day for us to reflect on that.

My sister requested that I update the blog. Well here ya go Kassi :) I haven't taken any pictures with my camera since Halloween....GASP!!! Nevertheless I am always taking pics with my trusty phone.

I take TONS of pictures of Baylee sleeping. There is nothing like a sleeping baby/child. Sweetest thing on earth.

This was taken one night on our way home from dance class. I found these headphones in an old box of Carl's belongings. I have no idea how old they actually are. Probably from his Walkman days.

Sunday afternoon Baylee said she wanted to play outside. Maw Tez bought her sidewalk chalk and colored bubbles for her birthday this year that we had yet to open it. We both took part in drawing. Here she is drawing herself.

Baylee has been looking forward to Halloween since the day after Halloween last year. It is such a fun holiday for kids. This year Baylee decided that she wanted to be a fairy.

We had a busy day Saturday. We did some shopping at Target, the mall, and Publix. By the time we got home

and had lunch it was much too late for Baylee to get a nap. Around 4:30 I could tell she was fading fast. We loaded up and headed to the walking trails across from Baylee's school to get a little fresh air.

I wanted to get a picture with Baylee and NeNe but she insisted on Toby being in the picture as well.

On Friday afternoon Baylee's school had their Halloween party. Before the party each of the classrooms paraded around the school so everyone could check out their costumes. My Mamma is in town visiting so she and MawMaw Dot took Baylee. I asked my Mom to take my camera and get some pictures of Baylee with her friends.

I, along with 95% of the rest of the world, am in love with Pintrest. I joined a while back but recently just began playing around on the site. I have already pinned several DIY crafts that I plan to try myself in the near future. This is my first. I have several pictures frames stored in my guest room and wanted to find something to do with them.

I ran to Michael's one day during lunch and picked up one sheet of scrap booking paper and three wooden letters. We have a green duvet cover in our guest bedroom so I thought the green would look nice.

Family Fall Fest 2011

Today Baylee and I attended the Fall Festival at her school. They had a big turnout and it was a perfect day for it. Free food and free play is a good Saturday in my book. :) The school rented two large inflatables and had lots of activities going on inside.

This is Eshan and his big sister. Baylee is ALWAYS talking about Eshan. I drop her off so early for school so I never get to see her little friends except for events such as this. She was THRILLED when he got there.

What's a fall festival without lots, and I mean LOTS of sweets?

Saturday I made plans for Baylee and I to drive to College Grove to spend the day with Hannah and Annabelle. Saturday was Hannah's 28th birthday and we haven't been to her house since Hannah's graduation in May. It's about a 50 mile drive so we don't get to hang out as much as we'd like. We got to their house around 10:30, had a quick bite to eat then headed to Henry Horton Park.

So the 5K has come and gone...along with my motivation to run. I have ran a total of 4 times since the 5K! Bad Bad Bad!! The longer you put off running the harder it is to get back into....as I am sure any runner can vouch for that. The last time I ran I did about 2 miles and it was TOUGH! Wednesday night Carl, Baylee and I headed to Finish Line and I got me a new pair of tennis shoes. It has been probably 2 or 3 years since I bought myself a pair of tennis shoes. I do wear them yes but mostly just while running and on weekends during the colder months. I am a flip flops and sandles type a girl any other time of the year.

One day last week I got home from work around 5:30. Baylee had fallen asleep while watching TV (we have been phasing out nap time). Carl and I both tried to wake her up but nothing was working. I knew the only way to get this girl to wake up was to take her outside. She wanted to blow bubbles so that's just what we did.

Disney On Ice...lots of pics!

A few weeks ago I purchased tickets for Baylee and I to see Disney on Ice at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. I think I was more excited about seeing it than she was. Saturday morning I asked her if she wanted to wear her Cinderella dress. She said yes but "I'm not gonna do any skating!"

This is her I really don't want to take anymore pictures face.

Hannah got tickets for she and Annabelle to go as well. We parked in the same parking garage and walked together to the Arena.

We decided to take the girls to see the Cumberland River when it was over. It was such a beautiful day!

After playing by the river we had lunch outside at a Mexican restaurant before heading home. It was a great day. Disney on Ice far exceeded my expectations and was THE BEST thing I have done with Baylee to date. I definitely plan to take her back if and when they come back to Nashville.

Trek or Treat 2011

Saturday morning Baylee and I attended the Hank Thompson Trek or Treat Halloween Family Festival. It was from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The money raised was given to United Against Lung Cancer. There were lots of booths set up but we spent our entire time there playing on the inflatables...well Baylee did I should say. I paid $15.00 for a wrist band and she jumped, ran, and slid til her heart was content.

She was on the go the entire three hours that we were there. I was a little nervous that I would loose her because there were kiddos everywhere!

Along with free reign on all the inflatables, with the wrist band she was also able to get her nails and face painted.

That beautiful face just melts me!

So yeah the face painter couldn't have been over 10 years old. Oh well, Baylee didn't mind :)

Masterpiece? Yeah not so much. Baylee thought it was awesome.

After she got her face painted we ran home to get a quick bite to eat. We live right down the road from where this event was held. Baylee wanted to stay and eat there but she drained me of all my cash with the wrist band.
After a quick bite we headed back. We weren't there too long when she spotted her dear friend Trevi from school. From that point on they chased one another and had the best time.

All My Favorite Things Week

Monday was bring your favorite book to school day. Baylee took Triceratops for Lunch. Grace gave it to her for her birthday.

Tuesday was wear your favorite color day. I PROMISE I did not choose this for her. I asked her Monday night what was her favorite color (since it changes by the day) and she said purple. The girl can't help that everything in her closet that is the color purple as LSU on it ;)

Wednesday was a FREE day. Thursday was bring your favorite stuffed animal to school day. No suprise here she chose Lady.

Today was wear your favorite sports team to school. Again, who's surprised?

A few weekends ago Baylee and I attended the wedding of a girl I work with. The wedding was at her church in Franklin. It was such a BEAUTIFUL day for a wedding!

The wedding was very small and intimate. They had the cutest little country touches. This is her wedding cake. It was delish! The wedding was outside and the reception was held in a barn behind her church.

The bride and groom. Baylee called her the white princess and her prince. She was so shy and timid when Katie came up to speak to her. After the ceremony Baylee said "She's a white princess and I'm a yellow princess. But she's married and I'm not." Girl cracks me up!!

The wedding was at 2:00 in the afternoon....right smack dab in the middle of Baylee's usual nap time. We weren't five miles away when I looked back and saw that she had nodded off.

Labor Day weekend

I am finally getting around to posting the pictures from our Labor Day weekend in Florida. The last few weeks have been absolute insanity with work and school so I am taking the time now to get these blogged or I never will.
The last time we went to the beach Baylee was just a little over a year old. She HATED it! She hated the sand, hated the ocean, hated every bit of it. Not the case this time. We didn't get to spend a whole lot of time on the beach due to the weather and water conditions but what time we did spend out there she fully enjoyed!

I took this picture this morning when I dropped Baylee off for school. She is growing much faster than this Mamma wants her to. Although she has her moments, this little girl is an absolute sweet heart. She hates for her Daddy or myself to be upset with her. She will break down and cry and repeatedly say she's sorry when she has done wrong. Other than my salvation, she IS the greatest gift I have ever received!

Tiny Toms

Yesterday during my lunch break I ran to Cool Springs mall in Franklin and bought Baylee her first pair of Tiny Toms from Jorneys Kidz. Aren't they precious? I had my heart set on a grey pair to match mine but they only had black in her size. Carl gets a 40% discount at Journeys, Journeys Kidz, Lids, Hat World, Jarman, Shii, and a few other stores thanks to his job at Genesco...so I paid just under $20.00 (including tax) for these cute little shoes. I think most people by now know the story behind Toms, if not click here.

Saturday Carl and I ran in our first 5K. I was VERY nervous going into it!! This running thing is pretty new to me. When Carl and I joined Snap Fitness in January 2009 I could only run about 2-3 minutes before getting completely winded. I remember the first time I ever ran 1 mile it was the biggest accomplishment for me. We were members there for about 9 months and in that time I got to where I was able to run 2 miles without walking. Fast forward 2 years. I started the couch to 5K running program just 7 weeks ago. I had to start slow because it had been more than two years since I had last ran. So sad...so true! Now I am can run 3.2 miles and not feel like I am going to die afterwards!

Carl ran with a chip. Basically it keeps track of time while running. This picture was taken by a local newspaper and was on their website. :)

Jody was the mastermind behind the whole thing. It all started with a text from her asking if I wanted to run a 5K with her. From there I decided this is something I want to do and to stick with it.

Carl finished in at 24:40 and I was just over 33. There was no big clock at the end to know my exact time just my watch/heart rate monitor. Both he and I feel that if it weren't for this HUGE hill we both would have had faster times. We are use to running on a pretty flat surface so this hill ended up being a beast for both of us! I was still happy that I completed it and ran the whole way.

We are now looking into running one more 5K and then beginning to train for a 10K.

A couple of weeks ago Baylee had pictures made at school. I wish someone would have brushed her hair. Other than that I love the look of it. Very natural and not at all posed, just like my girl! She's gonna do what she wants to do. We probably won't purchase the large package, like we normally do, but we will be keep one for ourselves. What Mamma can say no to pictures of their baby?

2011 Beach Sneek Peak

Yesterday afternoon around 3:30 Carl, Baylee and I arrived home from our 3 day beach trip. I wish I could say we all came home with really nice tans but the fact is we didn't see the sun the entire trip. NOT ONCE...BUMMER! However, we did enjoy our time there and the 1measly day we did get to play on the beach. I took lots of pictures with my Cannon so I will post those when I get around to it. In the mean time here are pictures that I took with my phone.

We arrived in Fort Walton Beach on Friday around 11:30 am. Baylee could not wait to see the beach!

Squealing in absolute delight!

This picture makes me laugh. Carl's flip flops were in our suit case in the trunk of the car so instead of taking off his shoes he walks out onto the beach with them on.

After some play time on the beach we went to Lucky Snapper in Destin for a late lunch. SO glad my boss told me about this place. It was a fun little spot overlooking the bay.

After lunch we decided to walk around to see all the little shops near the restaurant. Baylee and Grace took a ride on a train.

This is pretty much what the skies looked like for most of the weekend. :(

The four of us went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the LSU v. Oregon game on Saturday night. We were all decked out in our purple and gold. :)

Carl took the kids to the "hot pool" as Baylee called it because it was MUCH too cold to swim in the real pool.

After yet another downpour ran everyone out of the pool we got dressed and headed out to do a little bit of souvenir shopping.

We spent our Labor Day driving back from Florida in torrential downpours and even a couple of tornado warnings! I wish we would have had nicer weather conditions but I am still happy with the time we were able to spend together.

Carl, Baylee and I are on the road to Alabama. We are staying with a friend of mine in Birmingham for the night. Tomorrow morning we will set out for Fort Walton Beach, FL and meet up with my family. Excited doesn't even begin to describe how I am feeling right now.

In just one week my family and I will be lounging on the sand in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. I am SO excited! We haven't been since Baylee was just a little over a year old. I thought I would post some pictures of Baylee's first trip to the beach.

Retail therapy and more presents

Last Saturday Carl, Baylee and I did a little mall shopping. We went to Lids to look for Carl a couple new hats and Baylee made a b-line for the sunglasses...as she always does when we walk in that store. She tried on nearly every pair in her reach while we were there. Here she is checking herself out.

Remember Dwayne from A Different World that wore the flip up sunglasses? Apparently they are making a comeback.

When we got home from shopping Baylee had yet another birthday gift to open. Aunt Sister got her a horse purse and she LOVES it!

As much as I am looking forward to Fall I am definitely going to miss weekends at the pool. Baylee and I LOVE to spend our Saturdays at the pool. This past Saturday Baylee and I headed to the pool. She woke up VERY late from a nap and I knew I needed something for us to do to tire her out so she would get in bed at a decent hour. So..off to the pool we went. We were only there for a little over an hour before we both got too cold to be in the water. That hour was fun filled as you can see from her sweet smile!

Ice cream fellowship

Last Sunday night after service we had ice cream fellowship. GOOD STUFF! I went to get Baylee from her class so she could enjoy some chocolate ice cream herself. She wanted to take pictures with my phone.

Happy Birthday Pappy

Sunday afternoon we met Carl's family at Cracker Barrel on Music Valley Drive in Nashville for his Dad's birthday celebration. Baylee was SUPER excited about "Pappy's Birthday party". While we waited for everyone to arrive Pappy showed Baylee how to play checkers.

We spent nearly two hours there eating then sitting outside catching up afterwards. Even though we all live fairly close to one another, we all live busy lives so we don't get together as much as we would like. Baylee and I had a nice little nap after we got home before heading off to church at 4:45.

After Baylee woke from her nap Sunday afternoon I decided to take her to the fountain down the road from our house to let her play for a little while before heading to small group at church that evening. Click here, here and here to see past visits to the fountain.

It was only about 85 and the water was chilly! She didn't mind a bit.

I love this age. This child doesn't meet a stranger...well when it comes to kids anyway.

We spent a little over an hour there before heading home to get ready for church. I thoroughly enjoyed the cooler weather we had this weekend. I was able to be outside while she played and didn't nearly sweat to death. Come on Fall!

Running For A Cure

In 30 days I will be running my very 1st 5K. I began training 5 weeks ago and have been following the Couch to 5K program. I have a new found love for running. However, the farthest I have ever run in my LIFE at one time was 2 miles. I am anxious to see what my body can actually do. I am hoping this is just the jumping off point for me and in April 2011 I will be a part of the Music City Marathon...running the half of course ;)

4 Year Stats

This morning I took Baylee in to see the Pediatrician for her 4 year well visit. Her current weight is 32 3/4 pounds (20th percentile) and 41 1/2 inches tall (80th percentile). The doctor filled me in on ways to get a bit more calories into the string bean to help get a little more weight on her. I explained that my husband was 6'2" 145 pounds when we married so it's genetics. It appears that she is a healthy/happy (most of the time) 4 year old :).

No shots today! I opted to wait until next year before she starts kindergarten for the 4/5 year old shots. If we had done them today she would have to have gotten 4 sticks. They were out of the combo shots so we will wait until next year.

Tonight starts the 2011-2012 dance year. Fall is going to complete and utter chaos for this Mommy. Working full time, 3 classes on campus in Gallatin AFTER working all day, and one night dance for B. Thank goodness for Daddy and crock-pot meals!

Yesterday I swung by Smartt Steps and picked up Baylee's dance portraits. I think they turned out super cute. No one would guess she was just 3 years old in this picture. In my opinion she looks at least 5 or 6!

The photographer took A LOT of group shots. It was quite a challenge to get 9 girls to smile, pose correctly, and look in the same direction. :)

The video from recital night should be ready by September. I can't wait!

Saturday morning my cousin Leah and her 3 kiddos drove to Tennessee to hang out with us for the day. They are spending the summer in Kentucky since their Daddy is working there which means they are only about 2 hours from us. When Leah told me they were coming for a visit we figured Monkey Joe's was a good place to let the kids run wild. I took my Cannon with me with intentions of getting great action shots of them all. When I snapped the 1st picture it said "please insert card"! UGHHH.... I left the card in my computer after I uploaded Baylee's party pics. I did get some with my phone.

My sister was sweet enough to take pictures during Baylee's party so I wouldn't feel like I was missing everything. Plus, she has a AWESOME Nikon that takes beautiful pictures! We had a great turnout even with the extreme heat. Lots of friends and family showed so I was so glad we chose to have Baylee's 4th birthday in our home state of Louisiana.

So it's the weekend and we are childless. What to do???? Well......let's see, LOTS of homework to catch up on, laundry running out my ears, and organizing Baylee's closet and room before she returns on Tuesday. Oh yeah and watching LOST! I have boo coos of pictures from our extra long weekend in Louisiana. Carl and I made it home yesterday afternoon. Baylee is still in Louisiana with NeNe and PawPaw enjoying VBS at First Baptist Vidalia. I miss her like crazy but it puts a big smile on my face knowing they get that extra time with her.
Anyway, here are some pictures I snapped from my phone. There aren't many but I'll get to the good stuff as soon as I get a chance to upload them all.
