Saying Goodbye

Last Monday morning was Maw's funeral. It was a VERY sad time for everyone but I think we enjoyed our time with family. My Mamma and sister came to Brookhaven to tend to Baylee so we could attend the service and not have to chase her around at the cemetery and funeral home.
All of these pictures were taken after the service. Carl and I had already changed and ready to drive back to Tennessee. I don't know why I didn't think to take pictures while we were still dressed nice.Notice the German chocolate cake on her face :). Some VERY sweet ladies from the church provided lunch for us after the service. Carl looking at his GREAT-GREAT grandfathers grave. If my memory serves me correctly, his tombstone said he was born in 1884!Baylee and her DaDaPlaying with Aunt Kassi before hitting the roadI LOVE this picture. Notice the sign in the background. Maw was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. Established in 1906

Baylee riding Jake

City girl in the COUNTRY!

As I said in the previous post, I took LOTS of pictures during our short stay in Mississippi. Carl, Baylee, Pappy, and myself hit the road around 9:30 Sunday morning headed to Mississippi for Carl's great-grandmother's funeral. We didn't make it there until sometime after 4:00 p.m. Baylee did great, as always, during the 7 hour road trip.

Once we made it there we decided to check out all of the property. Carl's Uncle Butch has lots of land, a pond, and 2 houses on his property. While we were waiting on everyone else to arrive we checked out the pond. She has turned into a daddy's girl for sure! The rest of the TN band wagon shortly pulled in. Uncle Butch was getting a horse for Jordan to ride.

Bay and Jordan

They even have a Shetland ponyAunt Sister and Bay checking out the dorsie's (as B liked to call them)

Petting Jake

Watching Uncle Butch get Jake ready to rideBaylee and her Uncle Butch. She took to him almost instantly. She followed him all over and even helped feed the chickens and rooster. She wasn't a big fan of the pig. I am DEFINITELY not a county girl but my daughter sure seems to be ;)Daddy wanted to take his baby girl for a ride. By this time it was already her bed time (7:30) and she had a MAJOR meltdown when we made her get off and go inside to get ready for bed!So we are thinking maybe getting Baylee a horse for her 2nd birthday instead of a swing set.......NOT REALLY!

Preview

I took LOTS of pictures during our 24 hour stay in MS. Actually it was less than that. Baylee played by the pond, fed chickens and even rode a horse! She had a BIG day. Here are just a few pictures until I have time to post them all.

The puppies took her paci!

I took Baylee to the doctor on Wednesday because she has had green snot and a funky cough for almost a week. Her pediatrician treated her for a sinus infection putting her on an antibiotic. I dropped Baylee off at daycare around 9:30. When we went into her classroom Baylee still had her pacifier in her mouth. Ms. Shauna (one of Baylee's teachers) informed me that Baylee had not had her pacifier at all, including nap time, in over two weeks! WHHAAAATTT?? The MINUTE she gets into the car in the afternoon she immediately asks for her "paci". Carl and I talked and instead of waiting until she is two, which is only a little over 2 months away, we decided to bite the bullet and go ahead and make the paci disappear. Well tonight we were out playing in the yard and Aunt Sister came over for a visit. We had a couple of stray dogs wonder into our yard. Welp would you know that those durn "puppies" as Baylee calls them, took her paci?? Well that is what we are telling her. She has already had a meltdown which led to her being put in bed for a while why she SCREAMED! This is much harder than I ever expected. I am going to try my hardest and not cave. It is heartbreaking to see huge crocodile tears streaming down her face. :(

Easter Sunday

We had a wonderful Easter. I was so thankful that we did not have to travel back on TN directly after church like we did last year. We were able to go to church and then enjoy the rest of the day at the folks house......until the rain came that is.
Looking at her hand covered in chocolate.
Could I HAVE a more beautiful girl? I think not ;)
Mouth full of candy and as happy as can be!
The Easter Bunny put jelly beans in the eggs. Baylee kept shaking the eggs to see if there was anything in them. If not then she would throw the empty egg onto the ground.
Baylee's Peeps ;)
OK this is ENOUGH!
HAPPY EASTER! CHEEEESE!
